Ready-in-3 is an emergency preparedness program sponsored by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) . Ready-in-3 focuses on three steps you can take to prepare for many kinds of emergencies.

  • Create a plan for you, your family, and your business.
  • Prepare a kit for home, car, and work.
  • Listen for information about what to do and where to go during an actual emergency.

Materials are available to you and your family at no cost, many in multiple languages. In addition, posters, presentation materials, and newsletter articles are available for use by businesses, schools, and community organizations.

Shelter-in-Place

"Shelter-in-Place" is one of the basic instructions you may receive from public safety officials during a chemical emergency in your community. Sheltering in place offers you and your family immediate protection for a short time in your home. If you are told to shelter-in-place, take your children and pets indoors immediately and listen to a credible news source for further instructions.
