Immunizations

Immunizations protect our bodies against germs. Vaccines against infectious diseases generally contain weakened or dead viruses or bacteria specific to the disease. The vaccine helps our bodies recognize and fight off germs and protect us each time we come in contact with someone who is sick.
Immunizations

Children are required to have certain vaccinations before they may be enrolled in Missouri childcare centers or schools.

Community clinics are held each fall during flu season for flu immunizations. Clinics are also held at businesses and industries at their request. Please call to make arrangements.

Adult Hepatitis A and B vaccine for at risk agencies such as fire and police are available. Prior arrangements may be necessary for group requests.

Communicable Disease

Follow up is done on state-mandated reportable diseases. Immune globulin is administered to Hepatitis A contacts.

Sexually Transmitted Diseases and HIV/AIDS

HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted disease confidential testing and counseling is done Monday through Friday by appointment or by walk-in. Treatment is provided for syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia through the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

Health FAQs

Q: What should my blood pressure be?

A: According to national guidelines, normal blood pressure is below 120/80 mmHg. Your risk of having strokes, heart attacks, and kidney damage increases if your blood pressure is 120/80 mmHg or above.

Health Tips

To lower your blood pressure, talk to your physician about how you can safely lose weight, increase your physical activity and limit your tobacco, alcohol, and salt intake.
